The eVoiceNet COST Action, a newly funded European network dedicated to vocal biomarkers, was officially launched with its kick-off meeting held in Brussels on the 27th of October 2025. Funded for the next four years, eVoiceNet aims to build a truly interdisciplinary community focused on unlocking the potential of the human voice for health research and clinical applications.

From its very start, the Action has gained remarkable momentum. The network already brings together more than 80 participants from across Europe and beyond, with a strong commitment to inclusivity and capacity building. Notably, 50% of participants are Young Researchers and Innovators, the gender balance within the Action is perfectly equal, and over 120 applications have already been received from researchers and stakeholders wishing to contribute to the Working Groups.

eVoiceNet brings together a diverse and complementary community of academics, clinicians, industry partners, and non-governmental organisations, reflecting the interdisciplinary nature required to advance research and innovation in vocal biomarkers.

During the kick-off meeting, members of the Management Committee met to formally launch the Action, elect the Working Group leaders, and define a clear action plan for the first year. This marked an important milestone in setting the strategic and scientific direction of the network.

By fostering collaboration across disciplines and sectors, eVoiceNet aims to contribute to the responsible development, standardisation, and adoption of voice-based technologies in health. The future of voice in health is collaborative—and eVoiceNet is now officially underway.
